Which operating systems are available?

Introduction
LightningArrows supports a wide set of operating systems so you can match your stack—from Ubuntu web servers to Windows desktops and everything in between. Control panels such as cPanel and Plesk can be added where licensed add-ons apply.

Linux & open platforms
Common choices include:
- Ubuntu Server (LTS releases)
- Debian
- AlmaLinux / Rocky Linux
- CentOS Stream
- Fedora
- Alpine / Arch (where offered)
- FreeBSD
These are ideal for web apps, containers, databases, reverse proxies, and DevOps tooling.
Windows

- Windows Desktop options for virtual desktop and specialized software
Control panels & add-ons
At configuration time you can often add:
- cPanel / Plesk (and related tiers)
- CloudPanel-style free panels on Linux
- Database and remote-desktop oriented add-ons where listed
How to choose
- WordPress / PHP sites → Ubuntu or Alma/Rocky + Nginx/Apache (optional panel)
- Containers → Ubuntu + Docker / Kubernetes
- Windows apps → Windows Server
- VDI / remote apps → Windows Desktop or Linux desktop images
Pick the OS in the configurator when you build your server.
Why this matters
OS choice should not force you onto a single vendor path. We expose mainstream images so your tools, panels, and runtimes feel familiar on day one.
